Integrity HSE, Scotland’s leading provider of quality, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) consultancy services, has welcomed the Health and Safety Executive’s recent Call for Evidence (CfE) to review the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) and Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR), launched on 1 October 2025.
The Queens Road based consultancy is encouraging all industry stakeholders, particularly those who commonly apply these regulations in operational settings, to actively participate in the review process. According to Integrity HSE, this presents a timely opportunity to modernise and streamline regulation, ensuring it remains both relevant and proportionate, while maintaining or enhancing existing safety standards.
Integrity HSE’s Managing Director Steven Harris said, “LOLER and PSSR are underpinned by sound engineering principles and are critical in many safety-critical sectors. However, evolving technologies, such as hydrogen systems and automation, are introducing new operational risks that existing legislation does not effectively address, and this is a great opportunity to do that. We encourage as many as possible to join us in this endeavour”.
Integrity HSE believes that meaningful reform will require practical insight from those who use these regulations at the workplace, and urges all such organisations to answer the CfE before it closes on 11 November 2025.
