Aberdeen firm Fennex lands finalist position in this year’s OGUK Awards with digital tech to improve offshore safety

Aberdeen technology firm Fennex Ltd has secured a place in the finals of the OGUK Awards for its breakthrough digital solution which is set to enhance the offshore industry’s safety reporting process.

Fennex earns a place in the final round of the Awards in the Business Innovation category thanks to the design and implementation of its ground-breaking BBSS™ (Behavioural Based Safety Solution). The software harnesses the transformative power of digital tech to improve safety observation procedures across the oil and gas industry.

The Fennex team is delighted to have been recognised for its role in assisting the industry transition toward a digital future, “To be chosen as leaders in our field by such a prestigious business award is a very proud moment for all of us at Fennex as we continue to support the needs of an industry embracing a digital revolution,” said Adrian Brown, Fennex Managing Director.

Fennex, founded in 2016, based its submission on the successful collaboration with its partner firm Noble Drilling. Fennex’s cutting-edge digital solution transformed the Offshore Safety Observation Process across a global fleet, significantly enhancing the safety culture and delivering efficiencies that exceeded expectations.

The pioneering BBSSTM system is a cloud-based intuitive platform that provides live visual dashboards and intelligent analytics tools to aid decision-making and improve operational performance.

To allow for varying levels of digital readiness across diverse company structures, the BBSSTM solution includes both an app for mobile phone and tablet use offshore and a paper card specifically designed for conversion to digital data using machine learning.

“We are seeing a marked increase in clients who are keen to leverage the power of digital technology to improve safety and efficiency in their operations and we are proud to be at the forefront of delivering this game changing technology,” said Adrian.

“Huge thanks to the OGUK judging panel for recognising our contribution to the digital transformation of the industry.”
