Aberdeenshire Company Uses Expertise To Enter New Market

A leading provider of innovative asset cleaning and decontamination solutions has successfully used skills gained in one of Scotland’s oldest industries to tap into a new international market.

During the past few years, Inverurie-based Denholm MacNamee has experienced growing demand for its services to the distillery sector including pot ale tank cleaning, pot ale and syrup pipework retro-jetting, evaporator tube retro-jetting, finisher tube bundle retro-jetting, heat exchanger cleaning and general cleaning work. The specialist company has undertaken various projects throughout Aberdeenshire and Speyside, using skills and technology gained in the energy industry to unlock a valuable new market.

Now, the company is using knowledge gained within the sector to take expertise to an international market and has recently completed its first ever UHP cleaning project for a major rum producer in the US Virgin Islands.

Denholm MacNamee managing director Brian Ritchie said: “This market opportunity was originally identified as a way of using our skills, knowledge and reputation to diversify into a new income stream. Such has been the success of this diversification on a domestic level that we have now been able to open a brand-new international door. We were delighted to grasp this opportunity to further enhance our global footprint.”

He added: “The success of this project further underlines the growing importance of this extra strand to our business in helping to bring about increased sustainability and international growth opportunities by branching out in new and exciting ways.”

Denholm MacNamee is a leading one-stop provider of asset cleaning and decontamination solutions to the oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation and utilities industries and works closely with customers to provide bespoke, uncompromising solutions which give the option to combine services whilst considering key issues such as cost and schedule delivery.
