Aberdeenshire Company Uses Knowledge Transfer To Capitalise
A leading provider of innovative asset cleaning and decontamination solutions has successfully used skills gained in the energy sector to diversify into one of Scotland’s oldest industries.
Since its initial foray into the distillery industry about three years ago, Inverurie-based Denholm MacNamee has experienced a steady increase in demand for its services to the sector including pot ale tank cleaning, pot ale and syrup pipework retro-jetting, evaporator tube retro-jetting, finisher tube bundle retro-jetting, heat exchanger cleaning and general cleaning work.
The specialist company has undertaken various projects throughout Aberdeenshire and Speyside, using skills and technology gained in the energy industry to unlock a valuable new market. With future opportunities also in the pipeline, the distillery market is one which the company is continuing to capitalise on.
Denholm MacNamee managing director Brian Ritchie said: “This market opportunity was originally identified as a way of using our skills, knowledge and reputation to diversify into a new income stream and support one our traditional local industries. Our success has surpassed expectation and we are very pleased with how our work has been received by clients so far.
“Our efforts have been significantly bolstered by word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied distillery managers, the result of which has the potential to take us overseas in the months ahead.”
He added: “I firmly believe that, as well as opening new doors for us, this extra strand to our business has helped bring about increased sustainability during leaner times in our more traditional marketplaces.”
Denholm MacNamee is a leading one-stop provider of asset cleaning and decontamination solutions to the oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation and utilities industries and works closely with customers to provide bespoke, uncompromising solutions which give the option to combine services whilst considering key issues such as cost and schedule delivery.
