AquaTerra embarks on Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Robert Gordon University

Aberdeenshire headquartered, AquaTerra Group, will welcome a graduate from Vietnam early this year with the remit of developing and implementing an integrity management system capable of analysing and reporting ultrasonic testing data automatically.

Thanh Nguyen will join the Integrated Services Provider through Robert Gordon University’s (RGU) Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) which is partially funded by Innovate UK for a period of 24 months.  The aim of the programme is to transfer expertise and best practise between employers and RGU.  

In this instance, there will be a close collaboration between the university, domain experts and data engineers at AquaTerra to understand the specific requirements of inspection tasks and data, utilising expertise in data manipulation and transformation to optimise data for accurate model training.

Ultrasonic testing data has been analysed manually at AquaTerra to date which is a laborious and time-consuming process but management at the company hope that embarking on the Knowledge Transfer Partnership will result in the creation of a unique product with extensive capabilities.
