Aramark worker dies on BP Andrew

 

BP have confirmed an incident took place on Friday evening around 8pm on the Andrew platform Resulting in the loss life.

A Bond helicopter is reported to have aborted its existing mission to aid the Aramark worker following the Sumburgh coastguard helicopter on route aborting the mission due to an ill crew member.

The helicopter arrived on the platform around 90 minutes after the accident was reported to complete the medevac, and take the Aramark worker to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Aramark said the company has “lost a much loved co-worker and friend”.

A spokeswoman said: “Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family at this time. Support is also being provided to our colleagues on the Andrew platform.

We have lost a much loved co-worker and friend.

BP said it extends its sympathies to the worker’s family and colleagues on Andrew.

This was after another helicopter from Sumburgh had to abort its mission after a crew member became unwell.

The cause of the worker’s death is unclear.

A spokesman for BP said: “BP is deeply saddened to confirm an offshore worker died following a medical incident on the Andrew platform at around 8pm on Friday.
