BP chooses Tenaris for OCTG and Rig Direct in Indonesia

BP signed on January 9, 2019 in its Jakarta offices a cooperation contract with Tenaris to provide high quality OCTG products and accessories with Rig Direct® service, to support drilling activities in Indonesia’s Tangguh region.

Tenaris’s Rig Direct model integrates the supply of pipes and accessories from the mill to the rig operating under a single QHSE management system, focusing on process and operational efficiency with the objective of lowering overall costs. It means partnering with the customer from the design of the well column to technical assistance at the rig.

The outcome is the result of outstanding efforts from Tenaris, SKK Migas -the Indonesian government institution focused on managing upstream oil and gas business activities-, and BP. Tenaris is bringing Rig Direct to Indonesia after successful implementation in regions such as Europe, Middle East, North and South America.
