Brazil uptick as Imenco growth gathers pace

Subsea and mechanical engineering specialist company Imenco is reporting a significant uptick in business in Brazil.

During 2025 so far, Imenco Subsea & Mechanical Engineering (part of Imenco AS) has been awarded contracts worth in excess of £400,000, with the Aberdeen-based team playing a vital role in delivering scopes of work to a growing number of clients in the region.

The news follows the company’s decision to dedicate a locally based team to the region, a move which is already paying dividends in terms of growing both awareness and the customer base in the area. It is hoped that the traction gained in Brazil will act as a springboard towards further international expansion, and the company is now eyeing growth from the new US office, in Houston.

Plans are also afoot to establish the company in the Middle East and, again, the Aberdeen team will be pivotal in serving customers in the region.

The news from Brazil follows recent expansion in the company’s service offering to include a range of products encompassing subsea engineering, intervention, and system design solutions. Additionally, a steady increase in Aberdeen-based mechanical department staff has seen the team grow in recent months with the creation of further jobs anticipated as the company also adapts tried and tested solutions for use in the decommissioning and renewables markets.

Commenting on the traction in Brazil, UK Manager Subsea Mechanical Engineering Michael Noble said: “Expanding operations in Brazil, backed by Imenco AS capabilities in the region, is an important part of Imenco’s global growth strategy and our success there is laying the foundations for expansion in other international markets.

“Our commitment to Brazil reflects our confidence in the potential of the market, and our ability to provide innovative, quality off-the-shelf and bespoke solutions that are aligned with market requirements.”
