Business event to foster Scotland/Australia links

Opportunities to foster links between the North East of Scotland and Perth, Western Australia will be discussed during a major business event taking place on Tuesday, January 28th.

The seventh Aberdeen-Perth, WA Gateway hosted by Granite PR and held in association with the Government of Western Australia will take place at Aberdeen’s Norwood Hall Hotel on Tuesday, January 28th. The much-anticipated event will kick off this year’s Gateway series which links key global hubs and provides a platform for international networking, knowledge sharing and discussion.

The 2025 Aberdeen-Perth, WA Gateway will be chaired by Dr Francis Norman of the Centre of Decommissioning Australia (CODA) with keynote addresses from Global Underwater HUB CEO Neil Gordon and the Agent General of Western Australia, Angela Kelly PSM who will be making her first trip to Scotland for the occasion. Aberdeen Deputy Lord Provost Steve Delaney will officially welcome delegates to the city.

Meanwhile in a refresh of the traditional format, the lunchtime session will also feature a panel discussion including contributions from the likes of BlueOcean Marine Tech Systems, Cut UK, Saturn Fluid Engineering and the Aberdeen-based Net Zero Technology Centre. The packed schedule will also feature a “fireside chat” personal and interactive discussion, an update from Scottish Development International and plenty of opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing.

The Aberdeen-Perth, WA Gateway builds on the success of the now well-established Gateway series of events by creating an international bridge and acting as a springboard to further strengthen the links between the locations as well as facilitating additional opportunities between participating businesses and attendees.
Looking ahead to the event, Dr Francis Norman said: “With the long-standing relationship between Aberdeen and Perth I am delighted to be able to chair this year’s Gateway event.

“Due to the rapid adoption of new technologies and evolving energy landscape, now more than ever it is critical to work together for our common future. I am really looking forward to hearing the discussions this year and, with such a diverse line-up, it promises to be a great event.”

The Aberdeen-Perth, WA Gateway 2025 is supported by Aberdeen City Council, BlueOcean Marine Tech Systems, Centre of Decommissioning Australia, Cut UK, Department for Business & Trade, Energy Transition Zone, Global Underwater Hub, Government of Western Australia, Net Zero Technology Centre, Saturn Fluid Engineering, Scottish Development International, OGV and Qantas.
