Dales Marine secures contract to provide fabrication services for two new Scottish ferries

 

Dales Marine Services Ltd (Dales Marine), a leading ship repair and maintenance company based in Scotland, is delighted to announce that it was one of three Scottish companies to secure work from Ferguson Marine on the two Caledonian MacBrayne (CalMac) dual-fuelled ferries under construction.

Operating from five dry docks in Aberdeen, Leith, Greenock, Troon and Grangemouth Dales Marine delivers the full range of ship repair and maintenance, vessel mobilisation, engineering and fabrication services. 

The pipework fabrication will be carried out at three sites Aberdeen, Leith and Greenock for Ferguson Marine, and forms an integral part of the vessel’s pipework. 

On receiving the framework agreement Michael Milne, Dales Marine - Managing Director said: “This is one of our latest successes, and we were pleased to have been one of three Scottish companies Ferguson Marine selected.  It was great news for everyone at Dales and a privilege to play a part in the build of two new ferries for Scotland.” 

Dales Marine employs 180 staff, and in the last 12 months, staffing has remained level.  The company has 41 apprentices across all the dry dock facilities. 

Dales Marine is highly renowned for its ship maintenance, vessel mobilisation and demobs for the offshore energy sectors, mechanical engineering and a range of fabrication services for large and heavy structures.
