DDK Positioning Financial Results Confirm Upward Trajectory

  • Aberdeen-based positioning expert delivers record financial year
  • Service to maritime/offshore energy industries set to expand to land-based customers

DDK Positioning, the Aberdeen-based specialist in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Precise Point Positioning (PPP) solutions, has reported both a seven-figure turnover and profit for 2024/25, marking a financial milestone for the firm.

Established in 2016, DDK’s potential was quickly recognised with the company accepted onto the Scottish Enterprise High Growth Ventures programme in 2018, before becoming fully commercialised in 2021.

Leading global satellite communications provider, Iridium and GNSS hardware developer, Topcon Positioning Systems have both made significant investments in the company in recent years. These partnerships have been instrumental in DDK’s development of a unique, independent military-grade GNSS PPP solution, delivering accuracy better than 5cm and currently applied across the offshore energy and maritime industries.

As part of a 10-year agreement with subsea service provider, Oceaneering, DDK’s PPP solution underpins the advanced GNSS technology behind the Tier 1 supplier’s C-Nav® Positioning service. And whilst DDK plans to enhance its maritime operations in 2025/26, CEO Kevin Gaffney emphasises that the company’s technology has significant potential to transfer across diverse industry sectors, where operations will benefit from its global, robust and reliable pole-to-pole correction services.

He comments: “Our latest financial results can be attributed to our unique technology, developed and delivered in-house, which enables us to provide a seamless, global GNSS positioning solution. Further distinguishing us in the marketplace is our comprehensive approach that integrates both satellite communications and hardware manufacturing.

“Having honed our expertise and proved the exceptional robustness of our technology within the offshore energy and maritime industries, our strategy for the coming year includes entry into the land-based market, as we work closely with our partners and expand our own, Aberdeen-based team to develop the services to do so.”

“Your company news doesn’t just get published – it’s seen by the decision makers who matter.”
