Decom Mission Awards Return to Celebrate Safety, Innovation & Sustainability

Decom-Mission-Awards-Winners-2025

Championing safety, innovation, emerging talent and sustainability across the international decommissioning industry, nominations for the ninth annual Decom Mission Awards are now open.

This year the Awards, which were established by Decom Mission to recognise exceptional performance demonstrated by individuals and companies alike, will include the newly created Safety in Decommissioning Award. The awards will also celebrate all forms of innovation, the industry’s community of emerging professionals and sustainable activity in decommissioning.

In addition, the Decom Mission Member Award will once again acknowledge outstanding achievement from within the organisation’s UK and international membership, which spans the oil and gas, renewable and nuclear industries.

The awards will be presented at the Decom Mission Awards Dinner held in May, during the trade organisation’s annual Decom Week.

The categories this year are:

Safety in Decommissioning Award: acknowledges individuals and teams who have gone above and beyond to embed a culture of health & safety within the decommissioning sector over the past 12 months. This could include innovative practices, collaboration or outstanding leadership, which put responsibility, resilience, and continuous improvement at the centre.

Decom Mission Member Award: presented to a Decom Mission member company for outstanding achievement in the sector during the last 12 months. This may relate to project execution, product development, business strategy or another deliverable that has advanced best practice in decommissioning.

Emerging Professional in Decommissioning Award: for individuals who have recently joined the decommissioning arena and have made notable professional and developmental impact.

Innovation in Decommissioning Award: for organisations that, in the last 12 months, have developed an innovative solution to a decommissioning problem or project, which has resulted in a material benefit. This could include safety and environmental protection, cost and time savings, reduction of risk, improved execution and/or commercial and contractual considerations.

Sustainability Award: aimed at companies who in the last 12 months have made a significant impact in driving energy efficiencies, the circular economy, realisation of the Energy Transition and/or improvements in decarbonisation and sustainability within decommissioning.

The closing date for entries is the 8th December 2025, with full entry details available at https://decommission.net/events-training/decom-week/decom-mission-awards-2026/
