Using technology to open up a key international market will lie at the heart of a digital event taking place this week.
For the second year running, the popular annual Aberdeen-Houston Gateway will go online to deliver the latest market updates, using a multimedia approach to create networking and knowledge sharing opportunities for delegates around the world.
The digital showcase – held in association with the Greater Houston Partnership and G-Tech Innovation Centre/Hampco – will kick off the new season of Granite PR’s Gateway events, with Norway and Guyana among other locations to be highlighted later in 2021.
Starting with an overview and update on Houston’s economic circumstances, the free-to-attend event will be delivered via three presentation and Q&A sessions on consecutive days (March 23rd-25th), with the gathering pace of energy transition, subsea and aerospace also to fall under the spotlight.
Commenting on preparations for the ninth annual Aberdeen-Houston Gateway, event creator Brett Jackson said: “Delivering this event is particularly important at a time when physically visiting is not possible. It is a way of ensuring that those with an interest in the Houston market can keep up to speed with developments and opportunities there and plan their business activities accordingly.
“Energy transition continues to gather pace on both sides of the Atlantic and there has been considerable advanced interest in the discussion which will take place around this, as well as our other carefully chosen topics.”
He added: “The quality and range of Gateway speakers grows every year and we are indebted to all those who are taking part or supporting us in many ways, from the likes of Greater Houston Partnership and G-Tech Innovation Centre/Hampco who have been involved in numerous Gateways, to Sulmara Subsea and Insite Group who are taking part for the first time in 2021.”
The Aberdeen-Houston Gateway will be supported by Aberdeen City Council, BoyarMiller, G-Tech Innovation Centre, Hampco, Katy Area Economic Development Council, McGill & Associates, PKF Texas, The British Consulate-General Houston, The Energy Industries Council, The Greater Houston Partnership, Scottish Development International, TradeMark Insurance
