Doris Engineering to develop offshore oil and gas projects in Senegal

The Senegalese Ministry of Petroleum and Energies has awarded a contract to Doris Engineering to develop oil and gas projects offshore Senegal.

Under the advisor contract, Doris Engineering will review the optimisation and the robustness of the field development performed on the offshore projects to be in line with the expectations of the ministry for a period of two years.

Doris Group CEO Nicolas Parsloe said: “This award is the recognition by the Senegalese Government of DORIS expertise in LNG, and oil and gas deepwater projects. It is also the result of a good communication with GES-Petrogaz and understanding of their requirements.

“This is in line with the consultancy missions that we have performed alongside NOC’s in West Africa during the last 20 years, and in line with our strategy to work hand-in-hand with NOC’s and regulatory authorities.”

The contract will focus on the BP-operated Grand Tortue Ahmeyim project and the SNE project, which is operated by Woodside.

For the Grand Tortue Ahmeyim ultra-deepwater project located at the border between Senegal and Mauritania, Doris will review the subsea network, floating production storage and offloading (FPSO), and floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facilities.

The subsea network and the FPSO of SNE deepwater oilfield located in the Rufisque, Sangomar and Sangomar Deep Blocks within the Senegalese portion of the Mauritania-Senegal-Guinea Bissau Basin also form part of the review.

As part of the project, Doris Engineering will get an opportunity to train Senegalese engineers to the oil and gas deepwater developments, as well as to the company’s methods and tools.

Doris provides engineering services to the oil, gas and renewables industries.
