EIP celebrates 2019 Decom North Sea Outstanding Innovation Award

Ecosse IP Ltd (EIP), based in Banchory, Aberdeenshire are celebrating securing Decom North Sea’s 2019 Outstanding Innovation Award.

EIP, set up in July 2018, is developing a range of products for the offshore sector designed for subsea operations.  Their initial product, Ambient Lifter, has been designed to provide clients with a cost-effective subsea lifting solution, designed to lift from 500kg to 2500te.

The company is growing and developing its technologies with a pipeline of new product development well underway.   New technologies are targeting subsea operations within oil and gas, tidal and offshore wind sectors.   Several new products are under development, with launches scheduled Q3 2019 and Q1 2020.

Dorothy Burke, Managing Director – EIP, said during Decom North Sea Exhibition: “We are delighted to win Decom North Sea Outstanding Innovation Award, it celebrates what a fantastic year it has been for EIP team.  When I was at ITF, a study showed it took around 16 years to get new technology into the oilfield.  EIP is set to have Ambient Lifter to market within just 12 months, the most enjoyable work year of my life.

Burke continues: “Working with a dedicated team who are passionate about what they do and have a wide range of complementary skills, I’ve discovered that wearing a hard hat and boiler suit is when I’m happiest! Our technology has gone from a 500kg workshop test though two sets of trials to a 10te ROV integrated buoyancy lifting device demonstrated to industry professionals in Fraserburgh dry dock.”

EIP’s Ambient Lifter is in the planning phase for a 100te subsea decommissioning lift, with mobilisation scheduled for Q3/4 2019. The company is committed to subsea in Scotland and further afield, transferring skills and developing the young workforce with several graduate interns over the summer months.

EIP is active across oil and gas, tidal and offshore wind, focusing its innovative technology developments on subsea construction, decommissioning, lift and shift, installations, salvage, IRM and UXO removal.  Ambient offers a solution for underwater lifting without a crane vessel, transforming subsea lifting with a cost-effective, safe and highly controllable solution.
