Italian company Falck Renewables SpA announced on Tuesday that its US partnership with Eni gas e luce – Plenitude has initiated the commercial operation of two 7.5-MW solar plants.
The USA 963 and USA 40 photovoltaic (PV) farms held by Novis Renewables LLC are located in New York state and each has the capacity to generate around 9.25 GWh per year, enough to meet the demand of some 865 US households.
The plants will expand access to solar to local businesses and residents under the Value of Distributed Energy Resources (VDER) programme. USA 963 and USA 40 will also receive cash incentives from two New York State Energy Research and Development Association (NYSERDA) programmes, Falck noted.
Owned 51/49 by Falck Renewables North America Inc and Eni New Energy US LLC, respectively, Novis currently operates 190 MW of solar, with an additional 23 MW under construction, 30 MW of wind capacity, and a 6.6-MWh battery system in the US.
