Hydro Group secures Japanese business partner

International underwater connectivity manufacturer Hydro Group has established a new partnership with Japanese electrical and optical products company Riken Dengu Seizo Co., Ltd.

The Tokyo-headquartered firm will be the official distributor and business partner for Hydro Group’s subsea connectivity product range – including subsea electrical/optical cables and connection assemblies – in the Japanese market.

With over 80 years of experience in Japan, Riken Dengu Seizo specialises in the sale of electrical and optical fibre cables and connectors. The company also supplies electronic subsystems and componentry for the defence and aerospace sectors.

Heather Andrade, Head of Sales at Hydro Group Plc, said: “The appointment of Riken Dengu Seizo as Hydro Group’s preferred business partner in Japan is an important milestone for us, as they have a wealth of local knowledge and a strong track record of assisting international manufacturers.

“We are excited to be opening new trading avenues following a successful year of export and are looking forward to bringing in new business together in the years to come.”

Hydro Group’s product range will be offered by Chief of Sales and Marketing, Takayuki Higuchi, Field Application Engineer, Yuji Yamamoto and Sales and Marketing team member Ryouichi Tani.

Takayuki Higuchi, Chief of Sales and Marketing at Riken Dengu Seizo Co., Ltd, added: “We are always looking to capitalise on new opportunities and our new partnership with Hydro Group will significantly broaden the range of subsea connectivity solutions we can offer our customers.”

Hydro Group’s increased export performance and global business partner network was recognised last year with the 2018 Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade.

Open to almost all UK-based businesses, the International Trade category recognises those who have demonstrated substantial international growth in overseas earnings and commercial success within their industry.
