i-Tech Services wins first contract under new vessel charter agreement
Following the signing of a long-term vessel charter agreement in the Asia Pacific region earlier this year, i-Tech Services’ MMA Pinnacle has secured its first inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) contract with an integrated oil and gas services company, based in Malaysia.
The broad work scope for the 30-day campaign ranges from the provision of general visual inspection (GVI) services through to changing out subsea hardware in water depths of 1,400m, using the vessel’s 150 tonne crane.
Mobilising in Singapore, the MMA Pinnacle has been fitted with a range of i-Tech Services’ equipment for specialised subsea inspection and field support projects. This includes two 3,000m rated Centurion SP Work Class ROV systems, which are specifically designed to service deepwater projects.
James Christie, Regional Director-Asia Pacific, i-Tech Services, said: “Winning this work and then mobilising so soon after taking control of the vessel is a major achievement for the team and demonstrates there is real demand for our world-class services, assets and capabilities in the region.
“We are firmly committed to the expansion of our business in the Asia Pacific region and we’re sure that this project will be the first of many as we look to strengthen our market-leading position as a fully-integrated and responsive Life-of-Field partner.”
In May, i-Tech Services signed a three-year charter agreement for the MMA Pinnacle with MMA Offshore Limited to enhance its Life-of-Field (LoF) services and capabilities in the Asia Pacific region.
The fifth vessel in i-Tech Services’ fleet, the MMA Pinnacle is designed and built to provide customers with a high quality, cost-effective solution for offshore IRM and light construction activities.
The MMA Pinnacle, an 87m long DP2 Light Construction Vessel (LCV) is SPS compliant with accommodation for up to 100 personnel. It is fitted with a 150 tonne MacGregor Active Heave Compensated crane with a 1,000 sqm deck and is equipped with a helideck. The vessel was designed and constructed for fast and efficient project mobilisations and fitted with on-board systems and infrastructure to allow longer periods on location offshore.
