KR Group Celebrates Recent Wins

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic hitting industries hard, KR Group have shown resilience with project wins and the welcoming of several new team members and students.

Throughout the setbacks of lockdown, KR Group has continued to evolve their team and procure new work in the construction sector.

Providing a broad range of steel and cladding services all over Scotland, Aberdeenshire-based KR Group have recently been awarded several key new contracts in excess of £2.9m in the last quarter, including over 300k in energy contracts, 1.9m in the food and drink industry and 620k in housing and infrastructure.

Director, Nicola Fraser, said, “Although the past year has been fraught with uncertainty and countless obstacles to overcome, we have kept pushing forward with the developmental aspect of the business to make sure we have the most resilient business model to protect our staff team and workload, going forward. We have launched new features to our services and have been pleased to welcome new staff on board”.

KR Group work within a fast-paced and ever-changing environment which has stood the company in good stead to be adaptive during the pandemic and the subsequent effects on the UK industry.

Aside from a focus on staff retention and business growth, KR Group have remained committed to providing support and opportunities to young people in education, and this has continued despite the lockdown. Throughout 2020/21, KR Group have provided valuable career mentoring in universities and schools; facilitated work experience placements; supported work-related learning and hosted three Virtual Business Foundation Apprenticeships. As one of the few local employers to commit to pupils virtually, KR Group were able to provide them with support, opportunity, and an insight into how diverse the industry is, demonstrating that it is important and rewarding to provide young people with the opportunity to put their academic skills into practice. Future plans include partnership working with Robert Gordon University, Abertay University, and the Kickstart project, which all begin this Summer.

KR Group are always actively seeking work opportunities and would welcome all new enquiries for collaboration to ensure your construction project is achieved to the highest standard.
