Bilfinger UK’s Vice President of Offshore Services George Rennie is retiring this summer, after an impressive 38-year-career in the offshore industry.
Over the past two decades, George has played a pivotal role in shaping Bilfinger’s offshore operations, driving diversification and supporting the company’s ambitious growth strategy.
Sandy Bonner, President Bilfinger Engineering & Maintenance UK, said: “George has enjoyed an extensive career in the offshore industry. His deep knowledge, experience, and strong client relationships have brought great strength and stability to our business. Under his leadership, our Offshore Services division has achieved significant diversification and built a high-performing team.
“We are pleased to announce that Rod Agnew will succeed George as Vice President of Offshore Services. Rod brings over 30 years of experience in the sector, along with a strong track record of leadership and technical expertise.
“He will be a strong addition to our growing business and is well equipped to build on the successful business developed by George and the team, further cementing our market position and driving our growth ambitions.”
George added: “It’s been a privilege to be part of Bilfinger’s journey over the past two decades and to contribute to the growth of our offshore services. The business has moved on significantly from just providing the traditional fabric maintenance capabilities to the oil and gas sector and, now trading as one Bilfinger UK, has become one of the largest engineering, inspection, maintenance and Integrated Service Contractors in the UK, employing over 4,000 personnel.
“We now offer offshore and onshore Operations and Maintenance expertise as well as successfully diversifying into new sectors such as offshore wind, hydrogen, and utilities. I’ve had the pleasure of working with some incredibly talented people and seeing our team evolve into a strong, resilient unit has been a career highlight.
“I’m confident that Rod will bring great insight to the role, and I look forward to seeing the business continue to thrive under his leadership.”
