The Oil and Gas Monopoly boards have been delivered, after months of hard work and support from everyone involved. The fundraising project was initiated in collaboration with 167 Souls charity to create a limited-edition Oil and Gas Monopoly board, with all proceeds going to the Piper Alpha memorial gardens.
With the support of other companies on the board including SETS, OPITO and Bristow. The Oil and Gas themed Monopoly game allowed unique sponsorship opportunities for businesses to feature on the board and on customised chance or community chest cards. These have been re-invented as drilling and completion cards, in-keeping with the industry theme. The board was sponsored by a range of companies including energy giant Shell, who have substituted four train station squares with the Brent platforms.
Dr Stuart Scott, Medical Director at Iqarus, another company on the board comments, “Supporting survivors, post the accident, was a truly humbling experience. During times of crisis we are often reminded how vulnerable we are working in such a remote and challenging environment! Iqarus’s approach to local community engagement focuses on leaving a positive legacy, which we believe this project will achieve.”
The idea for the Monopoly board began at the end of 2017 and has progressed to the final stage of delivery this week. Boards are available to be collected at Oil & Gas Vision’s office in Innovation House, Howe Moss Road, Aberdeen. Receipt of donations must be brought on collection.
To purchase your copy of the board game, you can make a £34.99 donation at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/167souls.
