Norclamp Appoints New Vice President

Norclamp, a Norwegian provider of high-end, pipeline clamps, has just announced the appointment of Christian Rosnes as its new Vice President. This is in response to the increasing need for maintenance solutions in the subsea pipeline repair segment, and Norclamp’s growing market share.

Christian joins Norclamp after six years as business development manager for Interwell, the last three in Calgary, Canada. In this role Christian was responsible for the piloting and commercialization of the RockSolid™ technology for rigless P&A – a world-first of its kind.

Rosnes’ plan is to build a scalable business, diversify the company’s offerings, and showcase Norclamp’s innovative technology to a wider audience. It is estimated that Norclamp will create between 20 and 35 jobs in Norway, the Middle East and the US over the next three years. In addition, they will seek to develop significant business with local and regional suppliers within the markets.

Norclamp’s flagship product line includes three distinct clamps: the Split Clamp, the Compact Clamp, and the industry’s first Infinity Clamp. These clamps are designed for versatility, offering various dimensions and pressure ratings options. Norclamp’s focus on standardization sets it apart from other clamp providers, by significantly reducing lead times and costs, enabling the entire product suite to be available for emergency delivery.

“I am excited to join Norclamp and participate in the development of the company. The potential for the products and services on offer is tremendous. It is especially rewarding working with products that help secure asset integrity for the benefit of our customers, and also society through our focus on sustainability and technology. I look forward to learning from the people in the organization”, says Rosnes.

The market demand to extend the life of aging energy pipeline infrastructure through maintenance and repair is expected to grow steadily in the coming decades, mainly due to the industry’s focus on preserving existing investments made over the last century rather than reinvesting in new infrastructure. Moreover, as the energy transition advances, there will be an increasing need to convert existing pipeline infrastructure for carbon capture, transport, and storage (CCS) and, eventually, for hydrogen supply—a crucial step in supporting a decarbonized society.
