OceanTech’s cost-effective technology makes a splash in the industry

OceanTech is a technology-driven company with a proven track record in Splash Zone services. Their unique technology is specifically developed for underwater cleaning, inspection, repair and modification services. The products ensure cost savings and reduced risks, factors which are critical for the Oil and Gas industry.

Their technology is highly efficient and cost-effective and is designed for access to the Splash Zone, where traditional divers and ROVs are not able to operate. OceanTech uses unique robotic solutions to provide a fixed stable platform to enable the deployment of sensors, cameras, probes and other inspection tools.

OceanTech involves remotely operated access solutions with or without robotic arms. All solutions are launched from the structure, platform, fish farming cage, wind turbine or bridge etc. This allows for reduced costs and removes or minimises the need for support vessels, ROVs and divers. OceanTech’s technology operates from a fixed position relative to the working area, which makes the technology well suited for close inspections, NDT and any type of repair or modification work. The technology operates using all standard types of ROV subsea tooling.

The technology is also environmentally friendly as it reduces the CO2 emissions significantly by reducing the need for support vessels as required when using ROVs or divers. With more companies taking steps towards a more carbon friendly future, this is a key benefit for the industry.

In addition, the technology has great HSE benefits as there is no manual handling, which is typically required when using divers during underwater operations. The OceanTech equipment allows unmanned working close to structures in the harsh Splash Zone or when entering confined spaces.

OceanTech´s inspection solutions are ideal for verifying the integrity and extend the lifespan of any structure in the Splash Zone, prior to any repair or modification work.

GVI – General visual inspection
