Offshore Achievement Awards 2019 Finalist Feature - Bilfinger Salamis

Offshore Achievement Awards 2019 Finalist Feature - Bilfinger Salamis

1.) Tell us why you entered your business into the OAAs.

At Bilfinger Salamis UK, the decision to enter the Offshore Achievement Awards was twofold. Firstly, it provides an opportunity to profile our achievements in the Oil & Gas market this year, sharing our innovations and the positive impact they have in our business. Secondly, it’s a great way to celebrate the achievements of Bilfinger teams, recognising their hard work developing and implementing initiatives to make our business better.

2.) What does it mean to your team/business to be a finalist or if you were to win?

It means a lot to be recognised as finalists in both the skills development and collaboration categories.

Bilfinger Salamis UK’s Rope Access Academy has been a great success, providing the opportunity for offshore tradespeople to further their careers by becoming rope access qualified, and leading Bilfinger to become the largest employer of rope access trained colleagues in the UKCS. Becoming finalists in the Offshore Achievement Award’s Skills Development category is great affirmation of the academy’s success.

Collaboration is something we are very proud to be recognised for. Bilfinger has been actively working together with like-minded companies over the last 3 – 4 years to provide integrated services to our customers that delivery a more valuable combined service to their business. Being shortlisted for this award is positive recognition of the partnership approach taken with Bilfinger, CNRI, Aker Solutions and Global Energy

3.) In your opinion, how do awards like these support your business and the industry in general?

The Offshore Achievement Awards are a great way for businesses to profile achievements, as well as share knowledge and experience with the wider industry.

4.) What are you most looking forward to when you attend the OAAs on the night?

Bilfinger has attended the Offshore Achievement Awards for many years, and it’s always a great night to celebrate achievements, network and find out about successes across the industry.

5.) If possible, as it’s a skills development and collab category your company is a finalist for, can you touch on the importance of these areas in the industry too?

Opportunities for skills development are hugely important, both for individuals and businesses. Our Rope Access Academy is beneficial for both our employees and the business, and this is true of all skills development initiatives. Opportunities for colleagues to build their skills encourages career progression, strengthens employee loyalty and provides businesses with expert workforces.
