Malaysia’s Perisai Petroleum Teknologi Berhad has received a letter of award from Petronas Carigali for the provision of jack-up drilling rig, Perisai Pacific 101 (PP101) for Samarang drilling campaign in Malaysia.
The contract is for five wells with an estimated duration of approximately 200 days. The value of the contract is about $20 million.
The rig is scheduled to start its contract with Petronas between August 1 and September 1, 2019. According to Bassoe Offshore, the end date is set for March 2, 2020.
The PP101 is a high specification jack-up rig capable of operating in water depth of 400 feet, with drilling depth capability of 30,000 feet.
The rig was built by Sembcorp Marine’s PPL Shipyard in Singapore and delivered in July 2014.
