Texo Integrity+ Project Case Study

DROPS Survey

Driving efficiencies and greater ROI for clients through multi-disciplined In-Service Solution

The Scope

Texo Integrity+ were commissioned to carry out the annual DROPS Survey on-board a semi-submersible drilling facility deployed in the North Sea in September 2019.

The Solution

Texo Integrity+ mobilised a multi-disciplined and multi-skilled Rope Access Team to not only carry out the DROPS survey, but also to remedy any anomalies found. This provided the end-client with an integrated inspection, access and repair solution – delivered In-Service whilst the asset was operational.

Whilst on-board, the 3-man team, which consisted of an NDT Technician, a 6g Coded Welder and OPITO Stage 3 Rigger/Fabric Maintenance Leader, were able to react to new scopes of work as they arose including:

NDT of Banana Sheaves
CVI of HPU Lines
DPI of Conduit Line
Limit Switch Repairs on working basket
Installation of Signage
Bandage repairs to the Conduit line
DG8 Inspection & Survey
Rigging/Securing ROPS Heads
Greasing of Lifeboat Wires
Leaking flange in the sack store

The Result

Post project feedback from the client has been outstanding, with excellent scores across the spectrum for the project delivery metrics.

Specific client comments included:

“The team is always happy to help and communicates well – very happy with the service.”

“Good communications with personnel. Excellent response to change of plans.”

“Very good communications and a safe work attitude.”

Phillip MacDonald, Managing Director, Texo Integrity+ said:

“This was a project that suited our differentiated way of working to deliver increased ROI for our clients.

I am delighted with the performance of the team, their can-do attitude mixed with the multi-disciplined skill-sets ensured they were a valuable asset on-board.

Their performance is perfectly in line with the company ethos and my thanks go to each member of the team for a job well done!”
