ProSep, an industry-leading, technology and service provider for integrated process solutions to the global energy industry, has successfully supplied three (3) ProSalt™ units to Equinor for the Johan Castberg field development project, located on the Norwegian continental shelf in the Barents Sea.
The ProSalt™ technology that incorporates ProSep’s proprietary MAX+ design will provide best in class high efficiency mixing capability and critical benefits: precious water savings and achieving required salt concentration. ProSep’s mixers have been designed and fabricated to desalt the oil by mixing it with injected wash water in two different stages; firstly, downstream of inlet/test separators, and secondly downstream of a stabilisation separator.
Rafael Ramirez, Senior Project Manager for ProSep commented: “It has been a great pleasure working with Equinor, Aker Solutions and our suppliers/sub-suppliers on the Johan Castberg project. ProSep’s team and its stakeholders effectively achieved the completion of this project, fulfilling the rigor of Norsok standards in a very tight timeframe.”
Jacek Kacperski, Sales Manager Norway for ProSep added: “The capability and dedication of our global team has resulted in the on time and on budget delivery of the ProSalt™ system for the Johan Castberg project, building on our positive long-standing relationship with Equinor.”
The Johan Castberg project was notably the biggest offshore oil and gas development in 2017, with an estimated cost of approximately NOK 49 billion.
