ROVOP makes senior appointment amid continued growth
ROVOP, the independent provider of underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), has today announced the appointment of David Lamont as a non-executive director.
David has over 35 years of industry experience in the oil and gas sector. After starting his career at Schlumberger where he worked for 18 years, he has held a number of senior management roles, most recently as the CEO of global energy services company Proserv.
David’s appointment is in line with ROVOP’s business and growth strategy of providing a focused ROV service to its customers in all markets and geographies.
ROVOP CEO Steven Gray said: “David is a highly respected figure in the international oil and gas industry. He joins us at an exciting time of growth and we are in no doubt that his dynamism and experience in growing businesses in the subsea sector will prove invaluable.”
Steven added: “David will play a key role in supporting the evolution of our market proposition and organisational development, as we deliver on our plans to create a leading provider of subsea ROV services to the global energy industry.”
ROVOP’s recently announced fleet expansion of an additional 19 ROVs, which brings the total operational fleet to 51, as well as David’s appointment, will enable the company to better support customer operations by strengthening deployment capabilities in all sectors of the ROV industry across the world.
David has lived and worked in many parts of the world including the UK, Continental Europe, Russia, West Africa, Australia and the Far East. A dual Australian and British citizen, he holds a BE (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Western Australia.
