Second Major Acquisition for Aberdeen Firm

 

North-east oil and gas services company, OEM Group, has further bolstered its expertise in the oil and gas and marine industry with the acquisition of Great Yarmouth based, East Coast Diesel Ltd for a six figured sum.

This is the second acquisition in the last 12 months for the Aberdeen business with its earlier acquisition of services company Uniconn in February of last year.

OEM Group, which offers engine services and spares to the global oil and gas and marine industry, with operations in the Middle-east and Australia, has already built up a strong relationship with the Great Yarmouth company having worked together utilising its testing facility and offshore manpower.

The deal will further strengthen OEM’s position in the diesel engine repair marketwith the plan to grow its global customer base across Qatar, Azerbaijan, Australia and the UAEwhilst increasing business in the UK. The acquisition also sees thegroup expand its global team of 80 bringing in an expert team of 15 personnel from East Coast Diesel as well as their twin-engine dyno testing facility, further supporting the groups commitment to offer a complete and fully rounded solution to its clients.
