Serica Energy Awards Subsea7 $150 Million Contract for Belinda Pipeline

Subsea7, a seabed-to-surface engineering firm, has secured a contract valued between $50 million and $150 million from Serica Energy for the development of the Belinda oil and gas field, as well as a pipeline in the UK Central North Sea, Energy Voice reported on Monday, May 27, 2024.

As outlined by Subsea7 on Monday, the project scope includes engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of a 5-kilometer production pipeline, a gas lift line, and an electro-hydraulic controls umbilical.

Additionally, Subsea7 will manage the project and install necessary subsea structures to connect the pipeline to the existing Triton FPSO vessel operated by Dana Petroleum.

Project management and engineering work will begin immediately in Aberdeen, with offshore activities scheduled for the third quarter of 2025. Serica Energy received approval for the project on May 17th after delays caused by concerns over recent UK fiscal policy impacting the energy sector.

The Belinda field, located approximately 190 kilometers east of Aberdeen in 95 meters of water depth, is estimated to hold recoverable reserves of four million barrels of oil and five billion cubic feet of natural gas.

"We are delighted to have this chance to support Serica Energy with our EPCI expertise and showcase our extensive North Sea experience," said Steve Wisely, Senior Vice President of UK and Global Inspection, Repair, and Maintenance for Subsea7.

"We look forward to contributing to the safe, efficient, and timely execution of this project."
