SNC-Lavalin, confirmed they hav signed a five-year framework agreement with Al Khafji Joint Operations (KJO), a joint operations firm comprising Aramco Gulf Operations Company and Kuwait Gulf Oil Company. As per the deal, SNC-Lavalin Engineers and Constructors will provide a wide range of engineering services to assist KJO with engineering for major projects, including new offshore platforms, jackets and sub-sea pipelines as well as upgrades to existing offshore platforms and jackets, onshore crude and gas handling facilities, gas pipeline networks, utilities, wastewater treatment facilities, and instrumentation systems. SNC-Lavalin’s teams based in Houston, US, and Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia will carry out the work, supported by its global centres of excellence in London (UK), Calgary (Canada) and Mumbai (India). The new agreement builds upon an existing five-year framework contract for In-Kingdom General Engineering Studies signed in February this year, said a top official. “It’s a testament to the strong working relationship between KJO and our team, built up over almost a decade working together, that we’re able to secure another important framework agreement with KJO,” remarked Christian Brown, president, Oil & Gas, SNC-Lavalin. “These agreements allow us to work closely as a trusted partner to our clients, providing valuable engineering services over many years,” noted Brown. KJO is responsible for oil and gas exploration, development and production in the offshore area close to the Saudi-Kuwait border, including the Khafji and Hout oil fields which have been in production since the 1960s.
