Subsea Technology & Rentals Sprints Across The Finish Line With Sonardyne
Subsea Technology & Rentals (STR) are delighted to announce its latest investment in Sonardyne International Ltd.’s SPRINT-Nav acoustic and inertial navigation technology. The announcement was made at Ocean Business 2019 in Southampton, United Kingdom.
This investment will allow STR’s customers to benefit from the full capability provided by Sonardyne’s next generation of subsea positioning systems including Fusion 2 software and Compatt 6+ subsea transponders acquired by STR at the end of 2018. The addition of SPRINT-Nav, a combined Doppler velocity log, pressure sensor and high-grade inertial navigation system, will allow for more robust and time efficient subsea positioning solutions in support of a wide range of vehicle guidance applications.
Speaking at Ocean Business 2019, Scott Johnstone, Group Managing Director, STR said, “We are really impressed with the positive impact that Sonardyne’s new Compatt 6+ and ROVNav 6+ hardware – combined with Fusion 2 software – will bring to the survey and construction industry.
