Team Growth as OGV realises its 2020 Vision

OGV Energy builds on their successes of 2019 with an expansion of its global office locations and the announcement of two key appointments as part of a strategic growth strategy for 2020. The addition of a dedicated Managing Editor to undertake the leadership of the print and publishing division, will be supported by a talented Marketing Executive. This will deepen the news, advertising and content offering and provide added value to readers, advertisers and event partners, while allowing the OGV executive leadership team to focus on delivering their recent investment in the broadcast arm of the business.

International marketing and media specialist, Shelley Milne has embraced the challenge of the newly created Managing Editor’s role. With over 20 years’ experience in Media, Public Relations and Marketing spanning the public, private and third sectors, Shelley also holds an MA in International Journalism and an MSc in Cultural and Creative Communications. Having dedicated significant focus in recent years to digital, growth marketing and online brand development in the Energy, utilities, Entertainment and Tourism industries, Shelley is a brand and reputation specialist with extensive experience in crisis communications.

Shelley, as Managing Editor, will hold overall responsibility for all print and digital media throughout the group, including setting and implementing strategy as well as delivering weekly, monthly and supplementary print and online publications, including OGV Energy Magazine and OGV People.

Speaking of her appointment, Shelley said:

“As we face the energy transition, energy is a hot topic for everyone at the moment and OGV Energy Magazine is the fastest growing Magazine in the sector. With so much at stake for industry and the environment, the need for up-to-date, relevant news and communications is pivotal to enhancing knowledge of the efforts, innovations and opportunities which shape the sector and, critically, offers potential to improve public perception and understanding. I am both honoured and excited by the opportunities and challenges presented by the Managing Editors role and look forward to working with the unique and talented team at OGV.”

Shelley will be supported by a team of talented writers, designers and digital experts along with new start Katie Milne, as Marketing Executive.

Following an exceptional internship, OGV Energy were delighted to offer Katie a full-time position from January 2020. Having recently graduated from Robert Gordon University with a degree in Public Relations, Katie will play an important role within the publishing and events team, focusing on social media and content creation.

Managing Director of OGV Energy – Kenny Dooley said: “I’m a firm believer that a strong business requires a strong team. With exciting plans for 2020, we are delighted to welcome both Shelley and Katie onboard. As we continue to grow, it is exciting to have someone with Shelley’s knowledge, experience and passion at the forefront of our media services offering. This appointment, along with Katie’s enthusiastic and fresh perspective, will further enhance the quality and depth of content for all of our publications and online content, which will only be good news for our clients and our readership!”

Furthering their commitment to embracing young talent, OGV Energy will also be welcoming 3 students from Robert Gordon University for a 10-week placement towards the end of January, spanning digital marketing, public relations and media as well as graphic design. Their energy and insights will add fresh ideas, encourage cutting-edge thinking and offer a myriad of new opportunities for both the students and OGV.
