TenneT Germany has appointed Ina Kamps, most recently head of Offshore Wind Germany at BP, as its Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Kamps is appointed to TenneT Germany’s executive board with effect from 1 December 2025.
As COO, she will oversee TenneT Germany’s operational activities, with a particular focus on grid expansion, both onshore and offshore, as well as grid maintenance and safety.
Following her appointment, the management team at TenneT Germany is now complete.
Alongside Tim Meyerjürgens (CEO), Dr Markus Binder (CFO) and Kathrin Günther (CTO), she will form the four-person Executive Board of Germany’s largest TSO.
Kamps was most recently head of Offshore Wind Germany at BP, where she was responsible for the company’s offshore wind activities in Germany.
She brings international experience from the energy sector and is actively involved in associations such as German Offshore Wind Energy Association (BWO), promoting dialogue between industry and politics on issues such as grid connection, infrastructure planning and decarbonisation targets.
Said Kamps in a release: “Actively shaping and decisively advancing the energy system of the future drives me.
“A strong, integrated and reliable transmission grid is essential for this, as well as for a resilient and competitive economy in Germany and across Europe.
“As COO of TenneT Germany, I look forward to efficiently driving the expansion of the onshore and offshore grid together with a dedicated team, our customers and the federal government, and to taking responsibility for safe and reliable grid operations. Thank you for the trust placed in me.”
The appointment is part of the organisational realignment of the TenneT Group.
Since 1 January 2025, TenneT has been working in two independent organisations, TenneT Netherlands and TenneT Germany, both of which are part of the Group under a holding structure.
These new appointments to key leadership positions at TenneT Germany form part of this realignment and, together with the new structure, are a prerequisite for potential further investor involvement in TenneT Germany.
Said Manon van Beek, CEO of TenneT Holding and chair of the Aufsichtsrat of TenneT Germany: “I am pleased that we have been able to appoint Ina Kamps, an internationally experienced expert with strong operational expertise, to TenneT Germany. She will drive the safe operation and expansion of the grid and play a key role in making the energy system fit for the future.”
Tim Meyerjürgens, CEO of TenneT Germany, added: “The Executive Board of TenneT Germany is now complete — an important milestone.”
Meyerjürgens said that Kamps brings a clear focus on the strategic priorities of the energy transition, highlighting the expansion of grids, both onshore and offshore.
Said Meyerjürgens: “She has many years of practical experience in offshore wind energy and international expertise in the energy sector. Her strong implementation skills and in-depth industry knowledge make her the ideal choice for TenneT Germany’s operational core business.”
“When you share your news through OGV, you’re not just getting coverage – you’re getting endorsed by the energy sector’s most trusted voice.”
