This week’s leading oil and gas appointments

Adnoc chief executive Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber appointed executive chairman of XRG, the independently operated global chemicals, gas, and low-carbon energy player launched recently by the United Arab Emirates giant. ADQ chief executive Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi and Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, chairman of the United Arab Emirates’ president’s office for strategic, alongside Abu Dhabi Department of Finance chairman Jasem Al Zaabi, Blackstone chief operating officer Jon Gray, and OCI Global chairman Nassef Sawiris were also appointed to the XRG board.

Naser Saif Al Yafei appointed chief executive and Katerina Papalexandri appointed chief financial officer of BP-Adnoc joint venture Arcius Energy.

Adnoc Gas appointed Fatema Al Nuaimi chief executive, effective 1 January 2025, replacing Ahmed Alebri, who takes over as chief executive of Adnoc Sour Gas.

Malaysian’s Yinson Holdings has appointed Chai Jia Jun as group chief financial officer, replacing Guillaume Francois Jest, who is stepping down with effect from 31 January 2025. Chai Jia Jun will also keep his current role as group chief strategy officer.

Chris Cooper, currently LNG Canada’s senior vice president for Phase 1 pipeline and expansion, will succeed Jason Klein as the company’s chief executive on 1 April 2025.

Saipem appointed Luca Caviglia as the manager charged with the preparation of the company’s financial reporting and the certification in sustainability reporting.

National Oilwell Varco has appointed Chris Kendall to its board of directors. Kendall was most recently a director, president and chief executive of Denbury prior to its acquisition by ExxonMobil.

Former Shell vice president, renewable generation Americas, Amanda Dasch, appointed Americas chief executive for Danish renewables group Orsted.

Anemoi Marine Technologies has appointed Clare Urmston as the company’s new chief executive.

GD Energy Products, a solutions provider for the frac, drilling and well servicing pumps market, has appointed David Paradis as its new chief executive.
