Top global title for AIS Survivex in wind industry’s GWO Awards

AIS Survivex has been named ‘Training Team of the Year’ in the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Safety Training Awards.

The announcement was made today at the Wind Europe Electric City Conference and Exhibition in Copenhagen with AIS Survivex scooping the award in the categories ‘Training Team of the Year, Europe-Africa’ and ‘Training Team of the Year in 1500+ WINDA uploads'.

The judges chose AIS Survivex as the winner based on its entry, which detailed the company’s commitment to teaching standards and its instrumental role in piloting and developing new courses for the wind sector. This is in addition to the exceptional support the company provides to clients and delegates before, on and after their training courses.

Judges’ comments included:

Jesper Begge Hansen. Chair of GWO Audit & Compliance Committee and Head of Safety Assurance & Improvement at Orsted said: “This team seems very dedicated as to how they deliver the training and take their customers’ needs into consideration.   They advance the participants’ skills not only by adhering to training standards but also by orientating themselves in a realistic, real-life environment to ensure the training meets the working conditions of the participants.”

Louis Smith, member of the GWO, Audit & Compliance Committee, head of HSE Cubico sustainable investments, said: “This submission shows the training provider has invested significantly in their product. They are obviously doing something right”.

Laura Hastings, director of programmess and events at The Business Network for Offshore Wind said: “Even though this was the first entry I read, I felt it was setting a high bar for the rest. I am impressed with their thoughtfulness and insight”.

AIS Survivex, which is part of 3t Energy Group, has been delivering GWO training since 2015 when it launched a number of courses from its Renewables Training Centre of Excellence in North East England. It now offers the full suite of GWO courses, as well as complimentary courses in Rope Access, NDT and Health & Safety. Last year, AIS Survivex expanded its GWO training capability into Scotland, supporting clients as they move through the energy transition and go on to build some of the biggest on and offshore wind farms.

Paul Knowles, Vice President of Training at 3t Energy Group, said: “What fantastic news! We are really grateful to the judging panel and would like to thank them for recognising the efforts our people put into service delivery and excellence in training. We are delighted to win these prestigious and high-profile global awards – the first of its kind for the wind training industry.

“We believe our team goes to every length possible to deliver a great learning experience – but winning these awards helps recognise this in a formal way. A huge thanks to the team at AIS Survivex, who repeatedly go above and beyond to ensure delegates receive an exceptional training experience and a big thank you to our clients coming through the centres for their ongoing support.”
