Worley Wins Mozambique Contracts from Total

Total E&P Mozambique Area 1 Limitada has awarded Worley two master service agreements (MSAs) to provide services to the Mozambique LNG Project, Worley reported late last week.

“We are pleased to continue providing services to the LNG development and to support one of Africa’s largest projects,” Worley CEO Andrew Wood commented in a written statement.

Total serves as operator of the Mozambique LNG project, which will liquefy natural gas from the Golfinho and Atum fields offshore Mozambique via two liquefaction trains, according to Total’s website. Its partners include ENH Rovuma Area Um, S.A., Mitsui E&P Mozambique Area1 Ltd., ONGC Videsh Ltd., Beas Rovuma Energy Mozambique Limited, BPRL Ventures Mozambique B.V. and PTTEP Mozambique Area 1 Limited.

Worley stated that it will support development of the new LNG facility through in-and-out of country services under the MSAs. It noted that services include engineering, consulting and specialist engineering for delivery of onshore and offshore (subsea) facilities. The firm added that it will execute the services from its local Mozambique operation, supported by its global businesses including its Advisian unit.

“Through the MSAs, we will help Total and its partners in the Mozambique LNG Project meet the world’s changing energy needs,” noted Wood.

The MSA awards mark Worley’s latest role in bringing Mozambique LNG to fruition. The firm pointed out that it has been involved in the LNG development – located on the Afungi peninsula in the East African country’s Cabo Delgado province – since gas was discovered there 10 years ago.
