ATPI Celebrates 30th Anniversary of Golf Classic Event

Leading travel management agency and global partner to the energy sector, ATPI, welcomed back its highly anticipated annual golf event [Thursday the 27th of June] for its 30th year.

Celebrating the significant 30th-anniversary event, this year was held at Meldrum House Hotel and Golf Course and offered the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for two charities. Raising over £5,000, all proceeds will be split between local charity Lifestars, which supports children with additional needs in the city, and cancer research and support charity Breast Cancer Research Scotland – selected in memory of former ATPI General Manager Helen Gordon.

Organised annually by ATPI Director of Business Development and Client Engagement, Willie McPherson, the golf event has fundraised upwards of £40,000 since first accepting donations nine years ago, supporting several charities in that timeframe.

The 2024 golf classic event featured sponsors at each hole, including key supporters OGV Group, Aberdeen Football Club, Aberdeen Airport, Qatar Airways, Emirates, and P&J Live. The day concluded with a guest’s dinner that featured a prize-giving ceremony, with winning guests receiving prizes such as holiday packages to multiple global destinations and custom-fit golf clubs.

Having driven the event's success for three decades, the evening also paid tribute to Willie’s remarkable career at ATPI and his dedication to community engagement and charity support initiatives.

Discussing the milestone event, Willie McPherson commented: “This event is incredibly close to my heart and seeing it grow year in and year out has been an immense privilege to be part of. Witnessing the support we have consistently provided to local charities over the years has been one of the highlights of my career and my time with ATPI whilst bringing businesses together for this celebration has been a constant joy. Of course, making it to 30 years of the golf classic event wouldn't be possible without our incredible team and their hard work, as well as the support from our network of friends, business contacts, and continued support from sponsors.

The longstanding golf classic event highlights the importance of engaging with our clients and uniting to support incredible charities. This event demonstrates the range of services we offer, and we look forward to hosting more in the future.”
