eGroup bolsters management team with senior appointments

A leading provider of integrated services to the construction and oil and gas industries, eGroup, has strengthened its senior management team with the promotion of several key figures.

Based at Midmill Industrial Estate, Kintore, the company recently re-branded following the amalgamation of four separate divisions – eBlast, eClad, eFab (formerly RIM Fabrication) and eTest (formerly CSD Scotland).

eGroup has now established a new management board to oversee strategic operations and allow each division to achieve further growth through greater optimisation and shared efficiencies.

Christopher Noble has been promoted from group commercial director to the newly created role of chief operating officer (COO). Reporting directly to CEO and chairman Neil McDonald, he will support the board in strategic planning and lead senior management in day-to-day operations.

Prior to joining eGroup in October 2018, Christopherheld several senior roles in commercial and operations management in the oil and gas industry and has experience of managing teams across the UK and internationally.

Scott Duguid, operations director for eBlast and eTest, will also form part of the board. With 20 years’ experience, Scott has been a key member of the eGroup management team for the past decade and has a wealth of knowledge in surface preparation and protective coatings.

Alan Little, previously operations manager at eFab, has been promoted to operations director for both eClad and eFab. This role will be an integral part of the board, working alongside senior management and directing and controlling production and site operations.

Linzie McDonald has formally joined the board of management as an executive director. As co-owner, Linzie has been involved in the business for many years but, having taken a break from the business, will now take an active role in the group’s activities at board level.

Neil McDonald, CEO and chairman of eGroup, said: “I’m pleased to announce that a new board of management has been appointed and the leadership structure now finalised. Under my continued leadership and tenure as CEO and chairman, the directors will support me in developing and delivering the strategic direction for the business in our pursuit of growth and expansion over the next three to five years.

“The mix of strengths and enthusiasm possessed by the new leadership team, combined with the exciting new roles we are adding to the business, gives me great confidence as we drive the company forward whilst continuously improving our working practices and service delivery.”

In addition, the new organisational structure has resulted in several other promotions and role changes for senior eGroup personnel, including Keith Leys as operations manager (eTest), Darren McKay as technical design manager (eFab/eClad), Bob McKay as technical manager (eClad), Iain McDonald as technical director (eFab), and Aaron Noble as construction manager (eFab/eClad).

Christopher Noble, chief operating officer at eGroup, commented: “I am pleased to have been given the opportunity to take on this new role where I can continue to play a vital part in the company’s success along with the rest of the management team.

“I look forward to overseeing the growth of the commercial team in order to add value to all aspects of the business and ensure that we take full advantage of the group’s potential.”

eGroup, which can trace its roots back to 1976, operates from an 18-acre facility at the Midmill Industrial Estate, Kintore – just 10 minutes away from Aberdeen International Airport.

The family-run business currently employs around 190 people and recently announced plans to create up to 30 additional posts within the next three years, including several senior roles.

Since the turn of the year, eGroup has secured contracts worth more than £8million that encompass the company’s full range of capabilities – with all work to be carried out by personnel at Kintore.
