EIC National Awards Dinner Marks 70th Anniversary, Honouring Energy Leaders with WESCAs

EIC recognises 17 winners for their outstanding contributions to energy supply chain in areas including service & solutions, innovation and transformation.

London, 11 October 2024 — The Energy Industries Council (EIC) held its 70th annual National Awards Dinner (NAD) last night, honouring excellence in the global energy supply chain.

The event, which has featured an awards segment for the last ten years, recognises achievements not just in the UK but worldwide. The awards are part of EIC's World Energy Supply Chain Awards (WESCA), celebrated each year in five major regions: London, Rio de Janeiro, Houston, Dubai, and Kuala Lumpur.

The evening was hosted by the British movie and TV star Richard E Grant. With 143 nominees, all active EIC members, the night highlighted the most innovative and resilient strategies in the energy sector, based on EIC’s well-regarded Survive & Thrive research, which examines growth strategies in challenging markets.

This year, 17 winners across various categories were awarded the prestigious WESCA, recognising their exceptional contributions and achievements in energy supply.

NRG Sonihill was named Company of the Year while the EIC/RGU Rising Star award went to Dan Rigby from Wood.

The evening celebrated accomplishments in categories such as Collaboration, Digital, Energy Transition, and Resilience, with the winners representing the pinnacle of excellence in the global energy industry’s supply chain.

Winners of the EIC WESCAs 2024:

ECITB (Collaboration) – Acknowledged for its “Connected Competence” program, which has standardised technical competence in the UK oil and gas sector, enhancing safety and worker mobility.

Reflex Marine (Culture) – Recognised for transforming its company culture through flexible working policies, boosting staff retention, and achieving record revenues with a smaller team.

Turner & Townsend (Digital) – Known for creating QuanTTum, a digital tool that enhances project lifecycle performance by providing real-time insights and utilising advanced scanning technologies.

Proeon (Diversification) – for its successful expansion beyond the oil and gas industry into the renewables and nuclear sectors, resulting in a threefold increase in revenue.

Schneider Electric (Energy Transition) – for its leadership in decarbonisation initiatives, delivering advanced energy management consulting to help reduce emissions across various sectors.

TenzorGEO (Export) – for its innovative seismic subsurface imaging solutions that have significantly boosted its export growth in the global offshore oil and gas market.

Clariant (Environmental Sustainability) – for its progress in sustainable materials and green chemistry, which greatly minimise environmental impact.

Oceaneering (Innovation) – for its groundbreaking remote subsea inspection and maintenance technologies that improve operational safety and efficiency.

Score (Optimisation) –for enhancing performance through collaborative partnerships, leading to steady growth in its gas turbine division.

SPP Pumps (People and Competency) –for its commitment to employee development, which has improved workforce competency and operational efficiency.

Bilfinger (Resilience) –for its strategic diversification and export initiatives that have enabled the company to thrive amid global market challenges.

LRQA (Services and Solutions) –for incorporating advanced data analytics into its inspection services, providing clients with improved operational insights and risk management.

Fulkrum (Scale Up) – for its rapid expansion of energy inspection services to meet the increasing demand from global clients.

NRG Sonihull (Technology) – for its ultrasonic antifouling technology, which effectively prevents biofouling on ships and industrial equipment, thereby reducing maintenance costs and environmental harm.

Wartsila (Transformation) – for its leadership in digitalisation and decarbonisation, positioning itself as a key player in sustainable marine and energy solutions.
