Energy contracts a boost for travel specialist Nomadic

Nomadic, a Fragomen Technologies Company, is a global immigration, visa and passport specialist that has secured company contracts worth £600,000 in the energy sector.

The business says a surge in international activity among energy firms has led to increased demand for its technological solution for global workforce mobility compliance.

The latest series of agreements involves operators, energy service companies, engineering contractors, subsea firms and businesses in the renewables sector.

Launched at the start of 2019, Nomadic was founded by experienced and innovative immigration professionals from Fragomen, the world’s largest immigration law firm, to bring an automated and smarter approach to the immigration compliance side of short-term travel.

Nomadic is uniquely positioned in its specialist market as the only provider of an end-to-end solution for international compliance, as companies contend with Covid-19 regulations, Brexit and continual changes to travel and visa rules. The digital platform is used by small, medium and large businesses and organisations, as well as FTSE-listed and Fortune 500 companies.

Nomadic’s EMEA director, Neil Thomson, who heads its energy sector offering from Aberdeen, UK, said, “We’re supporting the energy sector with their workforce mobility strategy – speeding up the visa process and ensuring a better and more efficient use of resources for projects.”

“Among our recent accomplishments was support for a global subsea business that required 900 visas for work in South America and South East Asia on an extremely tight timescale. Nomadic technology, supported by our in-house Fragomen expertise, ensured that – despite the complexities of the situation – the crews were on site on schedule. Any delay would have resulted in significant additional project costs.”

“We’re also taking account of how Brexit is impacting business travel for both UK and EU citizens. New restrictions are now in place in terms of duration of stay and there are country-specific rules on what constitutes allowable activities. With the imminent implementation of new digital border systems, the complexities associated with travel become ever more evident.”

“We’re constantly exploring opportunities to work with travel management companies and other partners to further growth. And we’re working to add more elements to our application to ensure an even simpler experience – one which takes time and cost into account.”

“In essence, our digital platform – augmented by specialist in-house resources – inspires confidence among businesses that their employees are travel-ready.”

As a testament to the demand for Nomadic’s technology, the energy contracts discussed have been secured in past three months. Nomadic has also recently won a host of contracts in other sectors including finance, media and entertainment.

The one-stop Nomadic solution assists travellers and their companies with business visas, consular services, EU Posted Worker services and much more. It meets stringent immigration, documentation and health criteria. Its optional GPS capabilities take it to another level, supporting risk management and duty of care responsibilities.

The technology encapsulates an end-to-end traveller profile, from pre-trip compliance assessment and visa requirements through to live updates and tracking. Using the portal online or via their smartphone, users simply select their proposed destination to bring up all relevant documentation and the completed documents are sent to the relevant embassy, global Nomadic hub or in-country partner for lodging.

Nomadic has been shortlisted in the Technology Innovation Traveller Experience category at the 2022 Business Travel Europe Awards. The winners will be announced on Friday, September 30 in London.

Fragomen is a leading firm dedicated exclusively to immigration services worldwide. It has more than 5,000 immigration professionals and support staff in 55 offices around the world and offers immigration support in more than 170 countries.
