Equinor Energy AS has been granted consent by the Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) for exploration drilling in Block 6610/7 in the Norwegian Sea.
Well 6610/7-3, the Arkenstone prospect, will be drilled in production license (PL) 1014 in water depth of 230 m by the Deepsea Atlantic semisubmersible rig.
The consent also includes the drilling of pilot hole 6610/7-U-1.
The Norwegian Offshore Directorate granted the drilling permit in July (OGJ Online, July 12, 2024).
Equinor is operator at PL 1014 (80%) with partner Okea ASA (20%).
