Lloyd’s Register and ACE Winches join line-up for OGV event at OTC

Two senior figures have been added to the panel for OGV’s inaugural business breakfast in Houston next week. David Clarke, Energy Director at Lloyd’s Register and Alfie Cheyne, CEO at ACE Winches will join the stellar line-up of panellists.

Over 100 people have registered to attend the event at the Post Oak by Uptown Houston, from 7am-9am.

The panel will look at the theme of “Business Transformation in Oil and Gas,” exploring the impact of capabilities in new technologies. The discussion will look at their application throughout the industry and the rise of the new digital oilfield.

David was appointed as LR's Energy Director in January 2019.  Until recently he was Executive Vice President, Services for Aker Solutions, a global leader in sustainable energy solutions, having previously spent most of his career in upstream oil and gas with businesses such as Schlumberger and Wood Group.

He brings to the panel a wide range of engineering and leadership experience across technology, strategy and general management. At Aker Solutions he has been overseeing its entire services portfolio which extends into renewables and decommissioning, whilst also driving its services’ digital and cultural transformation.

Alfie’s brings expert knowledge from his extensive background as a Downhole Valve Specialist. He opened a marine and hydraulic engineering workshop manufacturing deck equipment for the fishing industry, before becoming CEO at ACE winches.  

He was named Scottish CEO of the Year 2013 at the Scottish Business Awards and the 2012 Institute of Directors’ Global Director of the Year.
