Stream Marine Training Gains OPITO Approval to Deliver ERRV Crew Advanced Medical Aid Training (including Further)

Stream Marine Training (SMT), a leading provider of maritime and offshore safety training, has received official approval from OPITO to deliver the ERRV Crew Advanced Medical Aid training standard, marking SMT’s 14th OPITO course approval and further strengthening its specialist support to the Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel (ERRV) sector.

The OPITO ERRV Crew Advanced Medical Aid programme is designed to meet the emergency response training and assessment requirements for personnel performing the Advanced Medical Aider role onboard ERRVs, equipping delegates with the skills and competence required to manage medical emergencies in remote and high-risk offshore environments.

Speaking following the approval, David Mulholland, Training Centre Manager at Stream Marine Training, said:

“We understand the ongoing challenges faced by ERRV operators in keeping crew members compliant with Advanced Medical Aid certification, particularly given operational pressures, availability of courses and crew rotation. We’ve worked hard to achieve this approval so we can better service our clients in the ERRV industry, providing accessible, high-quality OPITO training that supports both compliance and operational readiness.”

SMT now delivers a comprehensive suite of OPITO-approved ERRV training, including:

  • ERRV Crew Initial Training – Shipboard Operations (ITSO)
  • ERRV Crew Advanced Medical Aid (including Further)
  • ERRV Fast Rescue Craft (FRC) Coxswain
  • ERRV Fast Rescue Craft (FRC) Boatman

In addition to its ERRV offering, Stream Marine Training delivers a broad portfolio of OPITO-approved offshore safety and emergency response training, supporting personnel across the oil, gas and wider energy sectors. This includes BOSIET with CA-EBS and MIST, FOET (Further Offshore Emergency Training), as well as Offshore Emergency Response Team Member (OERTM) and Offshore Emergency Response Team Leader (OERTL) training.

This latest approval tops off an incredible year of growth for Stream Marine Training across the Marine, Offshore and Renewable sectors.
